Response to Melissa M's: Designing a Logo

If logos had always been more simple, without hidden messages or clever abstract symbols, what effect do you think it would have on brand recognition today?

If logos had always been more simple without hidden messages or clever abstract symbols, I don't think many consumers would remember the products as much. As written in the original essay, saying that Apple has the apple for their products everyone knows that, that is their product. It's a helpful reminder without having to read what product your purchasing or holding in your hand.

Bud light Marketing Promotions

So much of Bud Lights expenses come from the amount of promoting they do. Last weekend I was in Keene at Cobblestone Ale House for the Superbowl and they had the Bud Light Promo girls there. During the game they had people text a number and every so often a question would come out and first to answer would win a prize. Once the small prizes were gone, they started texting winners saying that they won a prize! The prizes ranged from Bud Light mirrors to a lazy boy chair. During the game they also had the girls walking around and having them play small games against an opponent to win T-shirts, hats, koozies, pens, glasses, buckets and more.

Do you think this is a good way for Bud Light to promote their products?
